To improve public awareness of local Judges and other court officials. We want to inform the public regarding patterns of behavior with these elected officials whose decisions directly impact the lives of those within their jurisdiction.
Court Critic will initially begin with the State of Georgia but our goal is to provide nationwide oversight into local judicial systems that affect the everyday life of those within their jurisdiction. We take reviews and stories about judges from attorneys, court officials and social workers. We will publish stories and reviews from non-attorney litigants who can support their accusations with transcripts, notarized witness statements or other court documentation to support the claims.
If you are a licensed attorney and want to publish your experience with a Judge or Court System, please fill out this form and we will respond to you within three business days with questions or concerns. For non-attorney litigants wanting to share their experience within a local court, please use this form and be prepared to submit supporting documentation with your claim.
We see so much coverage and discussion over the presidential election when the reality is that the president will have little impact on your every day life. It is the local elections-- especially the elections involving judges-- where the people need to wake up. With the stroke of a pen these men and women on the bench can take your children, send you to prison, or take all of your assets leaving you with very limited recourse. Can you appeal? Sure. If you have the time and money. Do the appellate courts get it wrong too? Absolutely, if they even accept the appeal at all. Public information about Judges and their course of conduct on the bench needs to be available for voters, for attorneys in the preparation of their case, and for local litigants.
Not really. Judicial Qualifications committees are notoriously inept and politically charged. Even in the rare event that a Judge is admonished, these admonishments are often private with no ability to access by the public, and the damage to the parties involved has already been done. Our goal is to increase public awareness about judicial conduct so that these officials can be voted off the bench, pressured into behaving ethically through oversight, and to give attorneys and litigants information necessary to effectively prepare their case when they know of a Judge's usual habits on the bench.
We require non-attorney litigants to provide additional documents to support their assertions in order to establish credibility and trustworthiness for our site. We want to make sure this is a platform to unemotionally exchange credible and legally sound information and not a sounding board for parties that did not prevail in court. It is possible for both attorneys and non-attorneys to submit their stories anonymously, and all information will be thoroughly vetted prior to publication.
